What a busy Monday! The day went incredibly fast but being busy helps and so does having a child in a decent mood.
I'm hoping that Eli didn't wake up until 6:40 when I heard him but I could have sworn when I woke up at 5:30 because of the cat I heard the pitter patter of little feet. Maybe it was the pitter patter of kitty feet. Eli and I made it to the gym this morning and afterward we headed over to Harper's Landing to meet some friends at the pool. We got there a little bit early so I let Eli play in the car while we waited for the pool to open. While we were playing a wasp flew into the car! I am so proud of how well Eli listened to me when I told him to get out of the car but it might have been my voice (I am deathly afraid of wasps!). Luckily when I opened the other door the wasp flew right out!
Here is Eli waiting for me to finish getting ready to go swimming. We are also waiting for our friends to show up.
Come on mom lets go play on the splash pad!
This was a pretty cool pool. The baby pool was attached to the main pool but the main pool at its deepest was 5ft 6 in. In the deep end there was a floating alligator that you can climb on. Also next to the pool was a splash pad. Eli had such a blast at this pool. At most pools the baby pool is separate and the kids keep going from one pool to the other so it was nice that the pools were attached.
This is the alligator that you can climb on. Those are 2 of Eli's little friends on the alligator, Miles and Cater. Eli loved to climb up on the gator and then slide down to the end of the tail. But at the end of the tail the pool is 5ft 6 inches. I am only 5ft 3.5 in. So when Eli would get to the end of the tail and then jump into my arms I would have to swim to the side of the pool with Eli on my stomach. He would do this over and over again, I got another work out at the pool.
Playing on the splash pad with Reagan's grandpa.
Eli had such a blast playing at the pool with his friends that when it was time to go Eli did not want to go. After the pool we came home and Eli went down for a nap. I wish I could have napped with him but I had too much to do. I did manage to get all the laundry done along with cleaning all three bathrooms. But what I really wanted to work on was making some veggie purees. I use the purees in different recipes to hide veggies. I was so proud of my self I got a ton done but in the mist of my cooking I went to check the mail. I guess while I was getting the mail a yellow jacket wasp decided to fly into the house. 2 wasp in one day! I found some wasp spray in the garage but it had very little in it. I figured I had about one shot worth so I better make it worth it. I hit the little booger dead on with the spray and a few seconds later it fell to the floor from our really high entry way window dead! Of course now I have bug spray on our really high entry way window. I'm so proud of myself I face 2 wasps today and held it together both times.
After Eli got up from his nap I finished up my cooking. I made the best banana bread I have ever had and it has a serving of veggies in it too! Eli loved it. After cleaning up from all my cooking and watching a storm blow through, Eli and I headed out to drop off dry cleaning and go to Target for Diapers.
This is Eli saying hi to Patches. It was so cute he just got down there and started saying hi, hi, hi to the cat. Wish I could have gotten it on video. I am surprised every day about how much more clear Eli's speech is getting. I also tricked him into saying mommy today!
Eli is helping me mix up some chicken mixture to put into tortillas for roll ups.
Such a good little helper! He even liked the tortilla roll ups which had 2 different kinds of veggies in it. At first he didn't want to try it but after I got a tiny taste into him he ate the whole thing and asked for more.
Eli needed a diaper change and actually went and laid down when I told him to.
Eli came up with a new game tonight. He would run around the house and everytime he would run into the kitchen where I was he would run into me. Then he wanted me to pick him up and spin him around and put him down and he would try to run out without falling down. He did this for at least 20 minutes. After that he decided that he wanted me to chase him. But he would stop and let me catch him where I would either be the tickle monster or the kissing monster. We did this for another 15/20 minutes. I finally told him that the monster was tired and needed a break.
Another interesting thing Eli started doing tonight is taking his diaper off. He did it 4 times tonight. He was very proud of himself for taking it off. I did get him to sit on the potty for a little bit but nothing happened. I hope this diaper thing doesn't become a regular thing because he knows how to take his pants off.
I had so much fun with my little man today! I am so blesses to have Eli in my life!
