Saturday without daddy

We had another busy exciting day today. The morning did not start out well! It started with the cat waking both Eli and myself up at just after 6:30. Eli got in bed with me and we watched blues clues. After Blues clues we headed down stair to get breakfast started. We went into the kitchen the back way, for some reason, and I put Eli on the counter. I went to get a pan to start the eggs and when I turned I saw it, a SNAKE! Laying on the carpet in front of the kitchen door was a snake about a foot long a little thinker then a pencil. I started to freak out, but that only scared Eli and caused him to cry so I had to pull it together. I started thinking, who can I call, "my dad? no he's too far away. Jake (friends husband)? no still too far. Paul (neighbor across the street)? no he wouldn't be awake and wouldn't hear his phone anyways. I guess it's up to me to take care of this thing." So then I had to decided how to get rid of it. First I thought BBQ tongs but I didn't want to get that close to it. Then I remembered that my grandaddy always used a hoe to get rid of snakes. We didn't have a hoe but we had a shovel so that is what I used. All this time while I am freaking out the snake was laying on it's back so I assumed it was dead, couldn't figure out why it was dead though. So I went and got the shovel and I touch the snake to pick it up with the shovel and it was not dead at all!!!!! So I started beating it with the shovel until it stoped moving then scooped it up and took it out side and cut it's head off with the shovel. I guess the snake was playing dead because the cat was sitting real close to it, but of course my cat does nothing about the snake.

After Eli and I finally calmed down after our snake experience I made Eli breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast and milk. These eggs were special because they had veggies in them. Eli ate a half a cup of eggs and 2 slices of toast. I'm loving this cook book I'm using because so far Eli has liked everything I have made out of it. after breakfast I had to kick it into high gear because we had to get out the door. The snake made me waste too much time. I need to drop Eli off at a friend's house so me and said friend could go to a Mary Kay makeover. My friends husband offered to babysit Eli while we went. Eli had a blast. My friend has 3 boys and the youngest, Owen, is Eli's age. Of course Owen decided to take a nap soon after Eli got there and didn't wake up until I picked Eli up. But Eli had a blast with the older boys. Eli loves older kids.

This is Eli and Tyler (our friend's middle child)

After I picked Eli up we headed down to League City to visit with Thomas' parents. Eli had a great time playing at his grandparents house. He even remembered where the wooden blocks that his grandpa made where. I think the last time Eli played with those block was in May and Eli remembered them and went looking for them. I also think Eli might have named him grandpa, pop. When Eli was playing in the pack-n-play he would call, "Pop". And when Paul would leave the room he would call, "Pop".

Eli playing in the pack-n-play. He had so much fun playing in it.

Eli has this new game that he has enjoyed playing so much. He is playing it with grandma here. He goes a ways away and then runs as fast as he can into you. He just about knocked grandma over.

Eli loves lawn mowers, so when the yard crew came to do the yard, grandpa took Eli to look out the window to see them work.

Grandma bought a basket to hold toys in and I think Eli might have had more fun with the basket than the toys.

Grandpa wasn't paying attention and had his foot out where Eli could "grab" a ride!

Playing in the basket

After we left the grandparents we head for home so that we could get ready for our friend, Jackson's, 2nd birthday party. We were home about 15 minutes and during that time Eli decided he had to have dinner right then. So I plopped him in his high chair and fed him some chicken roll ups, milk and chocolate chip cookies. If he would have waited 20 more minutes he could have had pizza. Oh well, what he ate had to different veggies in the roll ups and the cookies had chickpeas in them for added protein and fiber. We had a great time swimming at Jackson's party. I got Eli some arm floaties and he is starting to figure out that he can float with them. He is still a little nervous about being in the deeper water and likes to hang out on the steps instead.

Even though our day started out a little rough we had a great day. I love having busy days but I love even more when we get home from busy days and snuggle before bed. I love my little man so much. I can't believe that God entrusted Thomas and I with this wonderful gift to raise!

Wednesday without daddy

I woke up this morning to the sounds of planes taking off in the game room. Then Eli came and got in bed with me for a few minutes and tried to use the remote.

It works better upside down, or at least that's what Eli thinks.

When Eli gets up in the morning he wants to eat right away and does not like to wait for me to fix it. Normally I'm up and have it ready to go. But Eli has been waking up really early lately and I haven't been able to get up before him. I put Eli on the counter while I fixed breakfast and he decided I wasn't going fast enough so he got himself a banana off the banana tree and peeled it all by himself.

And successfully peeled it and ate it. So he didn't eat much of the breakfast I fixed.

After the gym today we went to the movies. The movie this week was Open Season. Eli only lasted 45 minutes this time. So we went to the arcade area and I let him play around for a bit.

After Eli's nap we went to Market Street to play in the fountains. Here are some pictures of our evening.

After the fountains we went to Lubys for dinner since Wednesday evenings kids eat for $2 and the amount of food they give the kids Eli can eat for days. I love that I can now give Eli choices like between blue or green jello. He choose green and loved it. After Lubys we came home and I discovered that Eli can take the safety guards out of the electrical sockets, awesome. I have a hard time taking them out. That little guy suprises me with things everyday!

Tuesday without Daddy

My morning started off at 5:30 this morning with the sound of little feet coming into my bedroom. I said, "Eli that better not be you out of your bed!" and the movement stopped. Eli just stood there until I sat up and asked him if he wanted to get in bed with me. Luckily Eli went back to sleep snuggled up with me. The only problem was that I was in an uncomfortable position for going back to sleep and I couldn't get up or Eli would wake up. So I laid there with my sweet little boy snuggled in my arm until 7. I enjoyed having my little boy snuggle with me this morning.

After we got up we headed down for breakfast.

Eli enjoying some yummy banana bread I made yesterday.

After breakfast Eli wanted to brush his teeth, that's why his tooth brush and tooth paste are on the couch. He's chilin' watching Jack's Big Music Show while I get breakfast cleaned up.

Like normal Eli and I headed to the gym. After the gym we ran a quick errand and then decided to go to the park since it was actually not too hot this morning.

Eli loved swinging today! I think he had me push him in the swing for over 20 minutes and in just one swing! Normally Eli doesn't last to long in the swing and has to switch to different swings.

Eli loves this slide at Bear Branch park. He kept sliding down and then go the long way around to slide down again. He had to have done this at least 10 times.

One thing I love about this park is every time we go we almost always run into some one we know and if not there are always kids close to Eli's age there willing to play with him. Today we ran into the Sealy boys. So Eli got to play with Cooper and Caleb for a little bit.

Eli playing with the recorder in the park. You turn the knob about 6 times and talk into it and then it changes your voice into something weird. Eli loves it.

Eli climbing into so chair thing.

Success but kind of boring so that lasted all of 5 seconds.

Eli watched an older boy looking through this so of course he had to try. He just needs a few more inches.

If your not going to use your potty to potty in you might as well use it as a stool!

Eli really tried hard to go potty in the potty but nothing happened again so he decided to wash his hands instead. At least he has good hygiene.

We saw this rainbow while we were coming home from open gym today. I thought this was a good ending for the day.

Monday without daddy

What a busy Monday! The day went incredibly fast but being busy helps and so does having a child in a decent mood.

I'm hoping that Eli didn't wake up until 6:40 when I heard him but I could have sworn when I woke up at 5:30 because of the cat I heard the pitter patter of little feet. Maybe it was the pitter patter of kitty feet. Eli and I made it to the gym this morning and afterward we headed over to Harper's Landing to meet some friends at the pool. We got there a little bit early so I let Eli play in the car while we waited for the pool to open. While we were playing a wasp flew into the car! I am so proud of how well Eli listened to me when I told him to get out of the car but it might have been my voice (I am deathly afraid of wasps!). Luckily when I opened the other door the wasp flew right out!

Here is Eli waiting for me to finish getting ready to go swimming. We are also waiting for our friends to show up.

Come on mom lets go play on the splash pad!

This was a pretty cool pool. The baby pool was attached to the main pool but the main pool at its deepest was 5ft 6 in. In the deep end there was a floating alligator that you can climb on. Also next to the pool was a splash pad. Eli had such a blast at this pool. At most pools the baby pool is separate and the kids keep going from one pool to the other so it was nice that the pools were attached.

This is the alligator that you can climb on. Those are 2 of Eli's little friends on the alligator, Miles and Cater. Eli loved to climb up on the gator and then slide down to the end of the tail. But at the end of the tail the pool is 5ft 6 inches. I am only 5ft 3.5 in. So when Eli would get to the end of the tail and then jump into my arms I would have to swim to the side of the pool with Eli on my stomach. He would do this over and over again, I got another work out at the pool.

Playing on the splash pad with Reagan's grandpa.

Eli had such a blast playing at the pool with his friends that when it was time to go Eli did not want to go. After the pool we came home and Eli went down for a nap. I wish I could have napped with him but I had too much to do. I did manage to get all the laundry done along with cleaning all three bathrooms. But what I really wanted to work on was making some veggie purees. I use the purees in different recipes to hide veggies. I was so proud of my self I got a ton done but in the mist of my cooking I went to check the mail. I guess while I was getting the mail a yellow jacket wasp decided to fly into the house. 2 wasp in one day! I found some wasp spray in the garage but it had very little in it. I figured I had about one shot worth so I better make it worth it. I hit the little booger dead on with the spray and a few seconds later it fell to the floor from our really high entry way window dead! Of course now I have bug spray on our really high entry way window. I'm so proud of myself I face 2 wasps today and held it together both times.

After Eli got up from his nap I finished up my cooking. I made the best banana bread I have ever had and it has a serving of veggies in it too! Eli loved it. After cleaning up from all my cooking and watching a storm blow through, Eli and I headed out to drop off dry cleaning and go to Target for Diapers.

This is Eli saying hi to Patches. It was so cute he just got down there and started saying hi, hi, hi to the cat. Wish I could have gotten it on video. I am surprised every day about how much more clear Eli's speech is getting. I also tricked him into saying mommy today!

Eli is helping me mix up some chicken mixture to put into tortillas for roll ups.

Such a good little helper! He even liked the tortilla roll ups which had 2 different kinds of veggies in it. At first he didn't want to try it but after I got a tiny taste into him he ate the whole thing and asked for more.

Eli needed a diaper change and actually went and laid down when I told him to.

Eli came up with a new game tonight. He would run around the house and everytime he would run into the kitchen where I was he would run into me. Then he wanted me to pick him up and spin him around and put him down and he would try to run out without falling down. He did this for at least 20 minutes. After that he decided that he wanted me to chase him. But he would stop and let me catch him where I would either be the tickle monster or the kissing monster. We did this for another 15/20 minutes. I finally told him that the monster was tired and needed a break.

Another interesting thing Eli started doing tonight is taking his diaper off. He did it 4 times tonight. He was very proud of himself for taking it off. I did get him to sit on the potty for a little bit but nothing happened. I hope this diaper thing doesn't become a regular thing because he knows how to take his pants off.

I had so much fun with my little man today! I am so blesses to have Eli in my life!

Sunday with out Daddy

Eli has now been in his toddler bed for a week. Up until now Eli has not come into our bedroom when he gets up in the morning. This morning I was awaken by a very cute little boy looking at me. He did actually get in bed with me and snuggle for a little bit (like 5 minutes).

I was really hoping that Eli would sleep so late this morning we would miss church but he was up before 7. I was hoping he'd sleep late not because I wanted to miss church but because he didn't fall asleep until really late last night and had been so tired lately. I am very glad we made it to church this morning because if we didn't I would have missed a big blessing through the message this morning.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:4

Check it out if you get a chance. http://www.fbctw.org/fbctw/sermons

After church Eli got a good nap of over 2 hours which he really needed. When he woke up he got to play with the train set daddy got him yesterday.

I think Eli had more fun tearing up the tracks than he did pushing the trains around the tracks!

Eli and I didn't really do much Sunday afternoon. We went to the grocery store and watched Finding Nemo but that's about it. Just before 7 Eli started asking to go night night so I got him ready for bed and did his night time routine. I guess he was really tired because he quickly fell asleep while I rocked him. I wonder what time he will wake up in the morning?

Another Mullinnix Saturday

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that is an awesome daddy. Thomas has started taking Eli out and about on Saturday mornings and letting me have a few hours to my self, I am always welcome to go with them though. I have been really enjoying my Saturday mornings to my self. This Saturday I decided to try a spinning class at the gym. the class was interesting. I'm not sure I totally sold on the whole spinning thing I think I need to try a different instructor. But after the spinning class I went to the 30 minute long ab class. I would have never stayed that long at the gym if I had Eli with me. Then I got to go run errands with out having to drag Eli along. While I was at the gym and running errands Thomas and Eli went to Walmart to get 2 new tires on the car which took over 2 hours! Thomas sure did have a time trying to keep Eli entertained for that long!

When the car was finally finished the boys came and met me at the mall so we could get lunch together. Eli likes to go play on the little kiddie rides and we don't even have to put money in them for him to have fun. Eli decided he need the keys to try and make the ride start!

When Eli first got in this ride he put his arm around the worm and gave it a kiss. Of course I couldn't get my camera out fast enough to get that picture!

After a yummy lunch of Chick-fil-a we headed home so Eli could nap and Thomas could pack for Kazakhstan. Eli only napped and hour and really need a lot more sleep then that! But Thomas got to say good bye before he left for the week. After Thomas left Eli and I got ready to go to Reagan's 2nd birthday party where Eli had not one but two pieces of birthday cake. Eli had such a great time playing with his little friends that he didn't want to leave but we had another event to go to that evening.

Eli was acting so tired that I hoped he would fall asleep on our way to our Sunday school social so we left early. Of course Eli did not even come close to falling asleep on our way there and we were way early. Luckily there was a really nice little park close the couples house where we were going. While we were at the park there was another family there and they had a little boy about Eli's age and a little girl about 5. Eli took to the little girl right away and started following her all over the equipment. It was so cute, the little girls brother wanted nothing to do with playing on the equipment and was very timid about it but not Eli he was all over it and going down the big slide. The little girl kept getting in trouble because she would want Eli to follow her on stuff he was just too little to do. Her parents kept telling her Eli was like her little brother and too little to do that stuff. But of course Eli doesn't think he's too little to do anything!

After playing at the park for a little bit we went to the social where we had an awesome time. Eli is defiantly starting to show more of his own will more and more. I could really see this during the social. Eli wanted to go upstairs (and so did Hudson) but Eli knows he is not allowed to go upstairs unless he asks and has someone watch him. Well, apparently Hudson was on the stairs so Eli went and got Hudson's mommy (Hudson is about 4 months younger than Eli) and asked her if he could go up the stairs. When I went looking for Eli since I hadn't seen him for a minute or so I found him climbing the stairs with Hudson and Julie watching. Eli also found ways to get outside when I didn't want to take him out. One time he got Lacy to let him out (Lacy is about 5) and another time he got another adult to open the door and let him out. There were plenty of adults outside playing with the kids so it was ok, but that boy is getting sneaky!

Nanny's shoes and crashing tables

Friday was an interesting day! It started off with Eli sleeping in until about 7:45, I was hoping he'd sleep in until after 8 since he hadn't been sleeping very well. For breakfast I made (the night before) applesauce muffins which have winter squash in them. They were really yummy and you can't taste the squash or the applesauce. Eli really liked the muffin and asked for more when he finished his banana and muffin (they were big muffins too). Since Eli woke up so late we didn't have time to go the gym before going to gymboree so we just chilled at home until time to go to class. Eli did a great in class even if he wanted Ms. Kristina or Ms. Stacy (Ethan's mom) to hold him. Eli has also learned to jump off the equipment on to a nice big foam mat. He wont jump unless I am there to "catch" him.

After Gymboree Eli and I headed over to Market Street for a free smoothie from Red Mango. Their smoothies are a little sweeter than Eli and I prefer but it was still good and FREE! After Eli got his smoothie we walked over to Boarders for story time where we ran into Stacy and Ethan again. Eli did great during story time, he made it through 3 books, 2 of which he sat in his own chair. He would have probably made it through the last book too if it hadn't been so long after his lunch time. Since Eli was so hungry I took him to Cafe Express for lunch where he chowed down on some chicken strips and sweet potato fries. I was so proud of him he ate so well and acted like a little gentleman during his lunch. After lunch Eli and I headed home. I guess I really wore him out because he passed out before we even got off of 45 for Rayford rd.

Thomas and I made plans to go out with some friends that night so Nanny and Papa came over to baby sit. When Eli woke up Nanny was there to get him out of the crib and boy was Eli excited! Eli also discovered Nanny's shoes and had a fun time walking around in them.

Right before Thomas and I were about to leave to met our friends Eli decided to try and walk in Nanny's shoes while no one was watching. We are assuming that he lost his balance and grabbed a hold of our glass table in the entry way which then came crashing down! It was a miracle that the table missed Eli. There wasn't a scratch or bump on the boy. The table top must have just went right over his head before it crashed on the ground and shattered in a million pieces. I am so thankful that Eli was totally untouched and we needed to get rid of that table anyways it was to dangerous with a toddler (obliviously!).

Fun with dad

Moo, Baa, La La La

One of Eli's favorite books is Moo, Baa, La La La.

Eli's new found freedom

So I think Eli figured out that he has a whole new level of freedom now being out of the crib. The 1st 2 days were great but I don't think he had come to realize that he could actually get out of the bed any time he wanted to. Well, he has figured it out now!

That being said it hasn't been that bad. Monday morning I found him in the glider just sitting there waiting for me to come get him. Nap time on Monday didn't go very well but I had a dentist appointment during nap time and Nanny was babysitting and in charge of nap time. Eli has learned that he can get away with stuff when he's with Nanny and he takes full advantage of that. Eli never went to sleep for his nap on Monday and when I got home from the dentist his room was a wreck! Eli went to sleep that night with no issues (but of course he would he was exhausted from not napping!)

Tuesday morning I never heard Eli get out of his bed but finally heard him making noises at the baby gate at the top of the stairs. Nap time didn't go that great on Tuesday either but I don't think it had that much to do with the bed. Eli came down with something on Tuesday and I don't think he could sleep very well. He did manage to get a little over an hour nap. Nanny was also baby sitting on Tuesday so that I could go to the dentist again. But this time I made sure Eli was down for a nap before I left. I also think Eli gets to excited knowing Nanny is there to nap. He loves his Nanny so much. Tuesday morning I told Eli that we were going to meet nanny at 10 at the mall (this was at about 7:30 in the morning). He immediately got up and went to the door and started saying go, go, go! I had to tell him it wasn't time to go see nanny yet and he had to wait, then he started crying nanny, nanny, nanny.

Last night Eli started running a fever of 101. So he went to bed very easily and was out until 10pm when his fever broke. But it didn't take too long to get him back to sleep after that.

This morning Thomas and I have no idea what time that little boy woke up. When Thomas went down stair he saw Gymbo at the gate (Gymbo goes to bed with Eli). Then Thomas came back up stairs for something and Gymbo was gone. While Thomas was doing stuff down stair before he left he could here little feet running back and forth. I got up and went down stairs around 6:20 and heard nothing on the monitor. I started my breakfast and took the monitor into the kitchen to listen for Eli. As I was cooking I could hear every once in awhile banging. I just figured it was the pipes from Thomas' shower. A few minutes later I heard a crash and a toy airplane taking off. I thought we had an intruder! I never heard Eli make a noise on the monitor so I assumed he was still asleep. As I slowly went up stair to find out what the crash was I found Eli playing in the game room. That boy had been up, since around 5am (I'm guessing) and never bothered to let either of us know! Oh yeah, I also found a whole brand new bottle of ibuprofen dumped out on the glider and it was not the dye free stuff either. (I had the ibuprofen set up so I could give him another dose if he woke and needed it, will not be doing that again. Thank goodness he didn't drink it!)

Nap time went fine today but he was still a bit worn out from being sick yesterday. He slept for a little over 3 hours and woke up once but I was able to rock him back to sleep. When he was finally wake from his nap I found him sitting in the glider. Tonight Thomas put Eli to bed and When I went to check on the boy I found an interesting site....

Prayer of Jabez

This mornings sermon was on the prayer of Jabez (1st Chronicles 4:9&10). Check it out at http://www.fbctw.org/fbctw/sermons.

It is so amazing when you get a message at just the right time and speaks to you so deeply. The sermon was basically about that it is ok to pray for things for your self, it doesn't mean that God will say yes or that you wont have pain or challenges but that it is alright to ask God for things. I know a lot of times we feel very selfish to pray for things for ourselves and I have been struggling with that a lot lately. I have been going through a miscarriage for the past several weeks. When Thomas and i first found out that we were most likly going to lose the baby we prayed and asked others to pray for us that we would have peace over what ever way the pregnancy was going to go. It turned out that yes I was going to lose the baby and we had a great peace about the whole situation wash over us. We know that Gods plans are the best plans. It's not to say that we don't morn the loss of this baby it's just that we are at peace and we know God is in charge and has something special in store for us what ever that might be. The thing about this miscarriage I am struggling with is how long it has been taking. Even though I lost the baby my body still thinks it's pregnant which means I get all the symptoms of the 1st trimester pregnancy. I get very tired easily and still get nausea. The doctor had led me to believe that I could take some pills and then everything would be over in a few days and then a little while longer for the hormones to be completely gone. Well it is taking a lot longer than that. I have been getting very frustrated with being worn out all the time and always feeling sick. I kept telling myself that God is trying to teach me patience and just to be patient and this will pass. This morning I could here God talking directly to me through Dr. Bruce's words. God was saying, "Kristen, ask me". I could hear the Lord telling me to ask him to take away everything I am going through. I really can't remember the last time I heard the Lord talk to me so plain and clear. But of course that was still not enough to get me to stop right then and there and pray. During the invitation I was thinking about one of the things I really miss about Gateway Baptist church was the alter call that they had at every service. As soon as I finished that thought Dr. Bruce said come to the alter to pray! Of course me being as stubborn as I am didn't get up and go to the alter to pray. I finally did get on my knees and pray right there in the pew. I prayed and asked God to please let me be threw with this miscarrage and to be done with feeling sick and tired. When I got up and cleaned up I could hear the Lord say, " See child, don't you feel better?" Not only did I feel better because I felt a burden lifted but for the 1st time in many many weeks I stopped feeling sick. It's amazing what God will do for you if you will just ask. I don't know why we as Christians have such a hard time asking God for things for ourselves.

God has really been trying to get my attention a lot here lately, through Dr. Bruce's sermons, VBS, and Even the movie The Book of Eli, I can just be so stubborn! Finally Lord I'm listening.

Family weekend

This weekend we just spent time together as a family. Saturday was suppose to be a Eli/Daddy day but things don't always turn out as planned. We had a slow start getting going Saturday morning but mid morning it was decided that Eli and Thomas would go hang out together and leave me to my own devices. So I got Eli dressed and ready to go, handed him off to Thomas and outside they went. Not two minutes later they were back in the door, the car wouldn't start. Note to everyone reading, if you let a 21 month old boy play in your car make sure all the lights are turned off when ya'll are done. Thomas doesn't drive to work so the car has been sitting with it's lights on for a long while. Needless to say the battery was completely dead! So Thomas pulls my car out to give the car a jump well, after several try it was decided that the battery was too dead to be jumped. So now the morning of daddy fun with Eli turned into lets take car of the car. While Thomas got the battery out of the car and got things cleaned up I took Eli for a walk around the block. While we were walking a wasp decided that it wanted to check out Eli's stroller. And if you know me you know my irrational fear of wasps and bees. I was so proud of myself, I saved my son before running away. After Eli and I got back from our walk we decided to all go and take care of the battery since I had some errands I need to run and would have been carless if I stayed home.

So off we went to Auto Zone, they will test and charge your battery for free. While we waited to charge the battery (couldn't test it until they charged it) , we went and ran errands and had lunch. And of course for lunch we went to Chick-fil-A. I know a lot of kids have a ton of McDonalds and ask for it every time they see the arches but my kid wont even know what McDonalds is. I think I can count on one had the times Eli has even been in a McDonalds. But when it comes to Chick-fil-A that's a different story. I think we go to Chick-fil-A at least once a week and I think my son is getting a strange relationship with cows. Right now the toy in the kids meal are these little white cows that you can decorate with stickers or color on. We now have 3 little white cows and every time Eli sees them he goes moo. The other day he had the cows, one in each had and was yelling moo, moo, moo, moo, moo for several minutes when I finally looked at he look up and me and went moo. I think he was trying to get my attention =-) On Saturday after we were finished with lunch we got into a bit of a sticker war with each other (the stickers that came with the cow)

putting stickers on daddy!

daddy's stickers

A sticker on Eli nose

After lunch we went back to Auto Zone and picked up the battery fully charged! We didn't have to get a new one, yea!! Next we headed home for a nap so Eli would be fully rested for Evann's birthday party that afternoon. We had a great time at Evann's Birthday party where we had more Chick-Fil-A! That makes 4 times in one week!!! Oh well at least its some good chicken! After the party we went home and took the front off the crib but that's in another post. While we were getting Eli ready for bed a huge storm blew through. So we all stood at the back door and watched the storm. As we were watching the rain come down I said, "we should thank God for the rain" and Eli signed thank you!

Sunday morning is like most Sundays, we made it to church and Sunday School which were awesome but I want to talk about church in another post. After Church we went to IHOP for lunch. It was crazy busy so things took a little longer then normal. I was so proud of Eli, he was great! When a waiter brought out our drinks I told Eli to say thank you and Eli signed to the waiter thank you. The waiter was real nice and asked what the sign was for your welcome and then signed it to Eli. After lunch and nap Eli and I were going to go with Thomas to watch him play football. We all decided to go together since it was all the way in Conroe. But as we got to Conroe we got notified that the games got rained out. So we decided to go over to Incredible Pizza for some pizza and playtime. I love that place especially when it's raining out side. The buffet is pretty cheap and so are the games. Eli is also at an age that he doesn't really need to play the games to have fun. So we only spent 3 dollars on games and rides and Eli play for a little over an hour!

Eli has been really into Toy Story stuff lately. He has never seen any of the movies, but his diaper bag is a Toy Story back pack. So Thomas and I thought we should get the 1st Toy Story from Netflix so Eli can see it. Sunday night we decided would be a good time to watch it. When we asked Eli if he wanted to watch a movie the 1st thing out of his mouth was, "pop corn". We watched the movie and Eli made it through all but 20 minutes of the movie (we'll finish it tomorrow). He was really into the movie for a lot of it.

I love family weekends like this. Even when they don't go like originally planned as long as we were together we have a blast!
