Another great week

This has been another week of fun in the Mullinnix household. We are so blessed to live in an area that there is so much fun things to do!

Monday was a normal day for us. We did our normal Monday activities, We went to the gym ran a couple of errands and then met up with out play group at the mall. After Eli's nap I decided to make some cookies for Eli. Eli is in love with my stand mixer. When I started the cookies Eli was in the living room with Thomas and as soon as he heard the mixer turn on he came running to the kitchen and saying up, up, up. Eli loves to cook with mommy, I think he just really likes getting the beater after I'm done!

This week Thomas is not on a client. He was still doing some work but didn't have to go into an office. Starting next week he will be at a client that keeps him gone from home for long hours. So Tuesday he devoted to just a family fun day. We were going to go down to Galveston but since we had such a busy weekend we decided that we didn't want to go that far. We came up with going to the Downtown Aquarium for the morning. Even though it was packed full with field trip kids we had a great time as a family! For lunch we got to go to one of my favorite restaurants in downtown. When I use to work the office that I worked for, during tax season, would order out for the last 2 weeks of tax season. We would order from this restaurant twice, we loved it so much. I was very excited to take my guys there. We went to Treebeards. Treebeards is only open Monday through Friday from 11 to 2 so it is very difficult for us to ever go there. There are several locations in downtown but the location I took my guys to is located in a church. I think it is very unique to go to a restaurant located in a Church's social hall. The food was awesome and so was the staff. They even went and found us a high chair without us asking. We were just going to use the stroller since this place doesn't get many kids, it mainly service business people. Eli even loved all the food! Wish I would have gotten some pictures of us enjoying our Treebeards lunch!

Tiger! These are some BIG cats!

Eli loves to ride the carousel and he loves to ride on the animals that go up and down but for some reason this morning he just wanted to ride in my lap. I didn't mind though =-)

Eli was leading the way!

Jelly fish!

rock lobster, anyone?

Lunch?

We were about half way through the aquarium and Eli turned around and went all the way back through and out the door and about all the way to where that white sign is and then finally wanted me to pick him up and carry him back to the aquarium. Still don't know what that was about

Cool looking fish

Can you find the sea horses? There are more than one!

Eli loves this exhibit. He mainly just loves to play in the water. There are some pretty friendly sting rays in this tank but Eli doesn't care for it when they come up and try to get a pet. Eli remembered this exhibit from the last time we where there.

He wanted to go play in the water across the room

Deep sea diving Eli!

He was having a blast in the helmet!

Isn't that just the sweetest face?!

finally riding the carousel by himself. He gets so serious when he rides by himself.

Wednesday we made it to the gym and then got Eli's hair cut. Eli actually did pretty good this time. He still cried and threw a bit of a fit but he didn't go into hysterics and by the end of the cut he had stopped crying. He also enjoyed the attention from the employees at Great Clips and the lollipop. After the haircut we headed over to Spring Trails to met up with our playgroup to go swimming. Eli wasn't much into being in the pool but there was water shooting into the pool at Eli just had a blast playing. Eli also has a turtle floaty that he became very attached to. Of course he didn't want to use it in the pool but loved pushing and dragging it around the pool area. We had a great time at the pool and when we got home Eli ate a big lunch and went down for his nap very easily!

Dragging turtle to the gate.

Still dragging

And on to the car

Still holding on to the turtle in the car

He got upset when he accidentally dropped turtle and couldn't get him back.

Thursday started off again at the gym. Then Eli and I ran a few errands on our way to Conroe to have lunch at Incredible Pizza! Thursday is $5 pizza day there and usually very busy. Incredible pizza is great, the toddlers are free and for drink and buffet for an adult is only $5 on Thursday it's also a very kid friendly place and we love how clean it is too. The buffet is also not just pizza, there are a lot of other options too. Eli was so well behaved, he did such a great job eating lunch and then played really well in the toddler area. That day there was a field trip there so they had the go carts running (they usually don't start running them until later in the day) Eli was mesmerized by them. You have to be 36 inches to ride in the go carts and poor Eli is only 31 inches. Eli wanted to ride so bad I had him stand against the measuring board and he even stood on his tippy toes to try and make himself taller (I have no idea where he got that from!). He did settle for just watching the cars.

Friday was Adventures in Babysitting! We agreed to watch our neighbors little girl for her on Friday and we had Mia from 7:30 until 5:30. Mia is about 8 months younger than Eli but a lot bigger! That morning I had a MOPs meeting and Petra said that it was ok if I took Mia with me. Well, the meeting is several flights of stairs and way in the back of the church and I had 2 toddlers that refused to walk. So I got to carry one toddler that was about 30 lbs on one hip and the other 21 lb toddler on the other hip plus 2 diaper bags. By the time I got to the meeting I was sweating! It was a blast having Mia all day Friday but a lot of work. Eli decided to be a bit moody but they still played well together. Mia did not like it when Eli would get in trouble. Thomas was also home Friday and it was so nice to have an extra pair of hands to help out with the kids!

After Petra picked Mia we had to hurry because it was Kids Night Out that night and it was the last KNO until September. So while Thomas gave Eli a bath (he was a super dirty boy). I cleaned up the house a bit and got myself ready to go and then we switched. I got Eli ready to go while Thomas got a shower and ready. I couldn't believe it but we got out of the house on time! But I did forget Eli's blanky I felt terrible about it too. After we dropped Eli off at the church we headed up to St. Luke's hospital to visit our friends who just had their baby boy that morning. It worked out perfect that they had him the same day as KNO because you can't take kids into the rooms at that hospital so we were able to visit them without Eli and so were some others from our church. After meeting Cooper and saying congrats to the proud mom, dad and big sister we headed out to dinner at Genghis Grill. After a yummy dinner we went to La Madeline's for dessert. Then we went to pick up Eli. When we got there he was in with the bigger kids watching Veggie Tales and loving it!

Today we decided that we wanted a nice relaxing day. But since it was suppose to rain all day we had to figure out something to do indoors. We finally decided on going to the mall and letting Eli play at the germ tree and then going over to Barns and noble and letting him play in the kids section. Before we headed up to the mall we stopped by the farmers market at Grogan Mill's shopping center. It was real nice since it hadn't started raining yet and was nice and cool. Then we headed to the mall where Eli had a good time playing around the germ tree. Then we walked over to the book store and let Eli ride the escalator up to the kids section. While we were up there we ran into some friends who have a little boy the same age as Eli. Both Eli and Ethan are really into trucks and trains and had a great time looking at the truck/tractor books. Then they played really well together at the train table. After awhile Ethan and his parents went to go ride the boat and we went to go get lunch. It was a lovely relaxing morning just what our family needed! Looking forward to what the rest of the weekend has in store for our family!
