How did this happen? When did my baby boy get old enough to turn 2. I can’t believe how fast these past 2 years have gone. My baby boy turned 2 on Saturday.
All week long we have been telling Eli that he was turning 2 on Saturday and that he was going to have a party. Of course all he was interested in was getting cup cakes at his party.
This is how i found the birthday boy when I went to get him after he woke up.
Eli told me he wanted me to take a picture of his foot. He’s an interesting child!
I asked Eli if he knew what today was and he said, birthday!
Eli’s 2nd birthday theme was construction trucks, can you guess why I chose that theme?
Thomas took Eli to their favorite donut shop for birthday donuts and Eli got a sprinkle donut.
Of course the silly boy only ate the sprinkles off.
What a face.
Eli always charms the owner into giving him a just made donut hole.
Yummy, fresh donut.
Eli even charmed the lady working there to give him a birthday dollar!
What else do you do on a 2 year olds birthday but take them to Toys-R-Us!
Doesn’t everyone drag a giant blue crayon around the store?
Foreshadowing on what’s to come!
After Toys-R-Us Thomas took Eli to the mall to pick up some candy I requested for Eli’s party. Of course Eli charmed his dad into getting him a “pop”.
After the mall Eli and Thomas hit the drive through at Chick-fil-a and took the food to the park for a picnic.
The boys came home while I was just starting on decorating the cupcakes for the party. I didn’t want Eli on the counter with me since I was using dye for the frosting but Eli had other ideas. While I was working on the frosting and ignoring Eli’s whines to get on the counter, Eli took it upon him self to go push his table up to the cabinet and climb right on up on the counter! He then grabbed the candy rocks he was after and proudly proclaimed candy! Thomas and I just stood there in shock while this all happened!
After E’s nap it was time for Eli’s party! Eli had been excited all week for his party. He was even more excited about the cup cakes he was going to have at the party! Eli loves trucks and tractors (the construction kind) so we decided to through a construction truck themed party. Thomas did an awesome job decorating. I wish I would have gotten more pictures of him decorating. Thomas used a lot of his tools for the decorations. It was such a beautiful day for an outside party too. I don’t know how we did it but for 2 years in a row we have had awesome weather for Eli’s parties! I love outside parties this time of year and I think the kids enjoy it too.
Eli’s Grandma and Pops checking out the present table.
We just threw every toy we could out in the yard and the kids had a blast with it!
I think the sand box was a hit!
Abby discovered Eli’s foot ball chair and thought it was perfect for her.
Every time Jackson comes over he does not leave the water table.
Uncle Derrill being Uncle Derrill
Eli was all about the cup cakes and the candy, he was not interested in posing for a picture with the cake!
Eli did a great job trying to blow out the candle but mommy even couldn’t blow it out. Finally daddy was able to get it out. I swear I did not buy a trick candle!
Eli has a very short attention span even when it comes to opening gifts. We are so blessed with such wonderful family and friends that Eli had a lot to open! He is trying to get away from present opening here!
He did a good job opening this one!
Eli has again escaped from present opening but he had plenty of helper willing to give a hand to get those gifts open.
I enticed him back with colors.
Eli is intently opening this gift his friend Aubry.
Maybe it’s just that he doesn’t want to open gifts with mommy…
I think he likes it!
Eli liked his guitar from mommy and daddy so much he was even trying to play it on the box.
I love this picture so much, I wish we would have gotten it on video. Eli is obsessed with bikes every time he sees one he has to point it out. He even has to point out bike racks when we see them. We held off giving him his gift from Nana and Pop paw until the very end. So when it was time I held Eli by the patio and told him to watch for daddy because there was one more gift and as soon as Thomas rounded the corner Eli went running after the tricycle yelling bike! bike! bike!
We had such a wonderful time celebrating Eli’s 2nd birthday and Eli had such a blast too. I could not have imagined what a wonderful little boy Eli is growing up to be. i am so blessed to have Eli in my life. It has been a blast with him for the past 2 years and I am looking forward to many more adventures with my little guy! Thank you Lord so much for putting Eli in my life!
