Kisses and Date night

Eli has finally learned to kiss. He's known how to kiss in the air but has never given kisses on the check or face (though he dose give zerberts on the tummy). Today Thomas was giving me a kiss and Eli saw, Eli came over and stuck his hand in between our faces so we couldn't kiss anymore. This is the second time Eli has not wanted Thomas to touch me. The first time he pushed Thomas out of the way and sat in between us. This time after Eli separated us he came at me with a kiss right on the lips! It was so sweet! Now Eli will give his mommy kisses (but not his daddy) and I'm loving it!

Tonight was kids night out at the church. Thomas and I dropped Eli off at the church and then went out on our date. We went to Sweet Tomatoes and then to the bookstore for coffee and relaxing. It was a nice easy going evening with my honey. This month's theme for Kids Night Out was dogs. So when We picked Eli up he had a pair of dog ears and paw prints (so cute!).

Eli loved his puppy ears so much he wore them for breakfast but then got peanut butter all over them!

Eli's 18 month Check up

Wow what a busy day and it's only half over. I love busy days maybe that's why I fill up most of our days! I am so thankful that God has allowed me to stay home with Eli and let us do so many fun and interesting things. I am also so great-full that Thomas is able to be home right now and getting to spend a ton of time with Eli. I believe they will have a special bond because of all this time they get to spend together right now.

Today started out at the gym and then we went to Gymboree. Eli did so well this morning. He is really understanding the off/on concept that we have been working on for the past 2 weeks. We have been playing this one game were we put the kids on the air log and rock them while singing one potato....all the way to 7 potato and after the 7th potato we pull them off the air log. Eli loves this game and every time I pull him off he points and says on. The last time we played the game when we sang 7 potato Eli garbed my arms anticipating the off!

After Gymboree we headed down the street to the doctor's office. Eli hates the doctors and I mean really hates. It's almost constant crying from the time we go into the exam room till we leave the exam room. Besides the crying the appointment went well. Eli is 20 lbs and 13 oz (not on the chart). I was sure he had to be at least 22 pounds! I think he feels heaver but I guess not. He is 31 inches tall and in the 20th percentile for height. Well, if anything Eli is contestant. He is always not on the chart for weight and always in the 20th for height! Eli got one shot and I think he did well with it

After the doctor's office we went to Grimaldi's Pizzeria for lunch. It's getting to be a tradition for us to go out to pizza after a doctor's appointment. Thomas had a coupon for a free pizza that expires tomorrow so we used it. What stinks is that I have given up sugar for 2 weeks so no pizza for me and boy did it smell and look good, that was hard to retain from eating but I did. I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken. It was good but no pizza! While we waited we played with Eli. Eli got a sticker from the doctor's office and had a good time playing with it.

Eli trying to put his sticker on his nose

Eli got his sticker on his head

That's a Double Dave's frequent eaters card, I think he was protesting how long the pizza was taking.

Eli loves his pizza

After pizza we let Eli run around Water way square. He had so much fun running through the fountain and just running in circles. He is also big enough to climb up on the bench by himself. He was loving being able to climb up on the bench and sit. I think several people got a kick out of seeing Eli run around.

Thomas and Eli and neither one is looking at the camera!

I think the shirt has the correct word on it for Eli!

Everytime the water would hit Eli he would run back to either me or Thomas.

Thomas kept crossing Eli feet and Eli had to work to get them uncrossed

Me and the Bug!

Eli passed out on the way home. He was one tired bug! He is still napping right now. I wonder what he has in-store for this afternoon!

Market Street

Today after Eli's nap we decided to go to Market Street. I had some errands I need to do there so off we went. We stopped by Charming Charlies and Eli found some "cool" glasses.

I had packed some extra clothes for Eli so We let him play in the fountain.

Easter Sunday!

Praise the Lord our Savior lives! The stone was rolled away and the tomb is empty. Today is the day that separates Christians from every other religion. We have a raisin Savior.

This morning started out for me last night. Last night we got Eli's Easter Basket put together at set it out for him to find it in the morning. I also had to get the eggs put together for the big family hunt in Baytown.

What the Easter bunny was leaving for Eli

Patches had to come check it out

I think she must have found something she liked

I woke up at 5am Easter morning. I love waking up before everyone else. I love the house when it's all quite and everyone is sleeping. This morning though I had a lot to get done so we could get out of the house by 8:15 am. I had to get myself ready, get Eli's clothes ironed, make breakfast, get the food ready for the picnic and then get everyone up and ready for the day and still have time for Eli to enjoy what the Easter bunny left for him. I was amazed on how well and relaxed our morning actually went.

I love this picture, Eli just woke up and noticed what the Easter bunny left for him.

Just a big smile for mommy

Checking out the goodies

He loved the vacuum. We had the hardest time getting him to put it down and hunt eggs. He also had a small melt down when we left for church and he couldn't bring it with him.

Checking out the other goodies in the basket.

He found an egg!

Great shoot of Eli putting the egg in the basket, even though I think he was just getting it out of the way.

Found another egg.

This is what I made for breakfast for my boys. They are carrot pancakes made in the shape of bunnies! I'm really proud of how well they turned out they tasted great.

Eli chowed down on the bunny

great smile

taking his pancake for a ride

Vacuuming and egg hunting at the same time, he's very talented!

Another egg!

The last egg!

After our fun Easter activities at home wee headed to church. Our church had our Easter service at the Pavilion this year. We had to be there early since I was helping out with the kids. While I was working Thomas had the fun job of keeping up with Eli. I was told that Eli took him all over the place and wore him out. After I was done checking the kids in to child care I got to join my boys and see some of the service. We couldn't stay for the whole thing since we were headed down to Baytown. But what I did catch of the service was awesome!

View from where we were sitting

Not a great picture of pastor Bruce but we were sitting way in the back.

We left the Pavilion and headed down to Baytown for our annual family picnic. We were so happy that Eli fell asleep soon after we started heading down there because we didn't think he would get any kind of nap on Easter. We got the the picnic a lot later then we ever have before. We are usually one of the first ones there but this time most everyone was already there. There was a big turn out this year. The dessert table looked awesome and so did the main food! Every year people usually make the same thing, I always bring sourkhrout and kielbasa and every year there is none left. It was no different this year! Eli had so much fun playing with all his cousions that I barely saw my own son. When it was time to go and most everyone had already left Eli still didn't want to go home. At one point in the day I said to Eli, "let's go find Papa" and Eli said, "Papa!". That was the first time he has said Papa! The picnic was a big success!

What's in here?

Eli entertaining himself on the ride home.

Nana gave Eli some finger paints for Easter. This is Eli's first time finger painting. He loved it!

The Easter bunny left Eli a dish set that also included a cup. This is Eli's first time drinking out of a normal cup all by him self. He did pretty good with it.

The Easter bunny also left Eli some sidewalk chalk so we went out side to play with it after dinner.
