Nanny's Birthday!

Today we celebrated my mom's 65th birthday.  My mom, dad and Grandmama came over and I cooked them dinner and the kids gave her the presents they had made.  We had a blast and dinner was pretty good if I do say so my self.  We started off with some coconut shrimp, then followed with mango tilapia,
wild rice, watermelon salad and garlic bread.  Then we rounded off the meal with a very chocolatey cake, made with over a pound of chocolate (my mom loves chocolate).
Here's the cake in all it's birthday candle spender.  1 candle more each 5 years of life

The kids helped mom blow out the cake err candles.  Hannah Joy just thought it was rather funny.
Eli's present to Nanny.  A hand print monkey on a trivet.

Hannah Joy decided that since we wouldn't let her have any of our yummy dinner or cake she would eat the napkin.

Hannah Joy's present to Nanny, a foot print butterfly on a trivet.

After dinner the boys decided to go outside for a water gun fight which of course turned into a water hose fight.

Eli chased Pop Pop across the street with the hose

Then Pop Pop attempted to get Eli back with the hose.  Needless to say they all got pretty wet!

But of course wall was forgiven!

Getting daddy wet with a soaking wet Eli!

We had the best time celebrating such a wonderful mom and nanny!

Hannah Joy has a new game!

Peppermint Candy

I don’t have an ordinary child, unlike most  kids Eli does not like to make cookies with me.  Instead he likes to make candy with me, I have been trying to find different type of candies that don’t require cooking at high heat.  Our late candy is peppermint candies, otherwise know as York Peppermint patties (this is what E and I do while baby doll is sleeping)

Tasting our finished product.

051

Could use more peppermint, mom!

050

Have a closer look.

052

Here are the finished products, we made them heart shaped because E loved the ones we got at Valentine’s day.

Let’s go fly a kite!

So the Easter bunny brought E a spidy kite for Easter.  Of course every day since Easter there has been no wind until today.  After getting baby doll down for the night we went out to try and get Spidy to fly.

016

And the kite is up!

019

And the kite is down

026

And back up again…

028

and down…

037

and up again (seeing a trend?)

046

but now it’s not technically down….

039

and this is how a tired mommy flys a kite.

We should have know that a Spiderman kite wouldn’t fly well since spiders can’t fly…

Yep, that’s right I’m cute!

Yum, puffs!

After 2 months of trying baby doll finally ate solid food with out a fight, well I guess you can call it food, Puffs.  We gotta start with something!  Baby doll is already a bit of an independent little thing she will only eat if she feeds her self (or E feeds her), she’ll spit it out if I try to feed her!

001

Humm, what’s this?

002

Not to bad.

003

Think I’ll have another!

Happy Easter!

We had an awesome Easter celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

027

The Easter bunny came and was very generous with the kiddos.

028

Hannah was the 1st up and was very excited about her peeps. Until she found out they were stuffed not candy!

045

031

So she decided to eat the grass instead!

039

The E got up and explored his basket.

040

E was very excited about his 1st chocolate Easter bunny (what was that bunny thinking giving my hyper child a chocolate bunny!)

052

HJ went to take a nap and E got to hunt the eggs the bunny hid. E decided the butterfly net was better used for eggs than butterflies.

069

Checking out the loot!

071

HJ is hoping that the stuffed peep would turn into marshmallow!

Next we all made it to the pavilion for Easter service. One day I will get to see the whole service but I am so glad that I get to volunteer so that others may her the wonderful story of how Jesus rose from the dead!

After service we headed down to Baytown for the annual Leavins family reunion. After we eat (tons of yummy food!) we have a giant egg hunt for the kiddos.

084 Waiting to hunt eggs with all the cousins.

088

They are on the hunt!

A rear shoot of me with the kiddo.

After leaving the picnic the boys headed to a hockey game and the girls headed home. It was a wonderful crazy busy day but we wouldn’t have any other way!

lucky ducks

I can't believe that my kids already play together. Eli thought that 5 months was old enough for Hannah Joy to learn how to play the game Lucky Ducks.

E showing HJ how to play.

HJ getting into the game.

I think she's done with the game.
