Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

On Saturday We went to go get our Christmas tree.  Heading out to Old Time Christmas Tree Farm on the Saturday after Thanksgiving is becoming a tradition in the Mullinnix household.  And so far both years that we have done this it has been really cold when we go!  At least this year there wasn’t any frost on the ground like last year.

 042

My cool little guy going to pick out the best tree.

 044

Thomas gearing up to go fall our tree!

045

Waiting on the tractor to take us to the trees.

047

Look it’s an Eli sized tree!  But Eli decided it was way too small!

 049

How about this one dad?

052

Never mind I found a better one over there!

051

Can we get THIS one?!!!!

050

Ok fine, how about this one?

053

Thomas inspecting the tree to make sure it was up to his standards.

054

Thomas cutting down our perfect tree!

055

E thought daddy needed help so he helped by using the pole

057

Hold on dad we forgot to measure it!  I’ll do it!

 059

On our way back to get the tree cleaned, paid for and loaded up on the van.

   063

While we waited on our tree we got some hot coco and took a train ride.

    068

Eli really enjoyed the ride!

070

look at those beautiful eyes!

071

I think he’s mooing at some cows.

     077

The one shoot to show that I was actually there too!

078

Sweet boy chillin’ on his mommy!

079

After we got our tree loaded up we head off to Waffle house and had chocolate chip waffles for brunch!  We had a great time on our tree adventure.  Next adventure, decorating said tree!

Thanksgiving Part 2

We had our second Thanksgiving on Saturday night.  This one was at my parents house with my two grandmothers and my sister's family.  My mom and grandmothers did a great job with the meal and my mom did and outstanding job decorating the table.

001

The adult table

002

The kids table which Eli is not old enough to sit at yet.  He had to sit with the adults.

003

The yummy dessert table.  My sister had to decorate my paper turkey with fruit and potatoes!

004

Eli and Pop Pop.  Pop was working on building a pump house so E had to go out and inspect the progress.

  007

Eli and his cousin Luke playing fort in the back of the truck.

 009

Then Eli decided to check out the top of the fort.

Wish I would have remembered to take more pictures.  The food was awesome and the company great.  My mom did a great job!

Hanging of the Green

Every year the Sunday after Thanksgiving is First Baptist Church The Woodland’s hanging of the green service.  The sanctuary gets decorated by different members of the congregation through out the service.   It’s a nice fun service with a lot of singing so we take Eli to the service each year.  Eli is just excited to get to go to big Church!  We ended up sitting next to our friend and her little boy who was behaving very well until E started bugging him.

011

I was able to keep the boys occupied for a while with gold fish.  Eli would eat one and then hand one to Ethan

013

E did get into the spirit of things and “sang” some of the Christmas Carols.

014

This is a picture of the preschool choir, they were very good and actually sang!

  017

Eli decided Ethan made a comfortable pillow and Ethan thought E was pretty comfy too!

018

After the service we had a fellowship that included, sweets, roasting marshmallows for smores and the movie It’s Christmas Charlie Brown.  There was also wassail and hot coco to drink.  As soon as E heard there was wassail he had to have some.

 020

Eli really enjoyed that wassail.

021

He enjoyed it so much he had to show Vanessa how good it was.

022

Eli spotted some youth playing Frisbee and they were nice enough to let E play a little.

 024

It looks like Eli is the only one watching the movie but all the kids are sitting back on the grass.  But of course not E he has to be right up front in the middle of things!

We had a great time tonight and it’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and to keep the focus on Jesus.

E can open doors!

A couple of days ago I was resting on the couch resting while E was napping (or so I thought).  When all of a sudden I turn my head to see a little boy standing next to me and he says, “hi mommy!  I opened it!)  Meaning he opened his bedroom door.  It has finally clicked with E that he can open doors.  Well now he has been loving closing and opening doors.  This means he can now open the door to the vacuum.

034 037

Eli getting the vacuum out and closing the door behind him.  At least we have taught him to always close the doors after you open them!

038   041

He did a great job vacuuming the floor, too bad it wasn’t plugged in or I’d have a clean floor!

Thanksgiving Part 1

I love Thanksgiving!  We have so much to be thankful for and I love that I live in a country that has a day set aside just to be thankful.  Here are a few things that we are thankful this year

001

I am thankful that we live in a country that every morning we can have a Bible study with our son and not be worried that someone might find out.

002

I’m thankful for my 2 boys and our comfortable house where we can sit back and watch the HEB Thanksgiving day parade.  And on this Thanksgiving we are really thankful for a working AC!

003

I am thankful for being able to host Thanksgiving dinner and have it at my wonderful table.  I love my dinning room table!

005

I am thankful that Eli has a cousin that is close in age to him and doesn't live to far away.

023    021

The boys are very thankful for balls!

009

again I am thankful for my dinning room table that is large enough to fit my family and have little boys run around it while the grown ups finish eating.

011

yet again I am thankful for my table, it kept 2 little boys very occupied while everyone ate their dinner in peace.  After running around it they decided to play under it.

008

I am so thankful for my husband who works very hard to support us while I stay home with E.  We are very blessed in this family, lots of food, love and laughter!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Getting into the Christmas Spirit!

One of the things I love about living in The Woodlands is that there is always something going on and most of the the time it’s free!  Tonight we went to Iwon which is a festival that goes with the lighting of the doves.  We have gone every year of Eli’s life.

 002 003

Eli had to go up and say hi to the snowman, he gave him 5 and then ran away

007  009

Then Eli had to check out all the acts that were on stage.  He didn’t care much for the choirs and signers but loved the dancers.

010 011

Next E had to take a few spins in the “snow”.  Thomas and I totally forgot to bring any cash with us.  The event is free but all the children’s activities cost.  They had a snow area that E really wanted to go into but mommy and daddy didn’t bring any money!

012 014

After we walked the length of the festival Eli found a hill and decided to dance and then decided running down it would be more fun.

019 020

Eli spotted a friend.  I guess Mason forgave him for ditchin’ him Thursday night for a girl!

021 022

The boys had a blast chasing each other and rolling down the hill.

024

On our way back to the car E had to check out another act up close and personal.

026  028

He was even trying to dance with them while attempting to hold on the the fence.

We had a great time and as we were leaving we kept running into more friends coming in.  But we had to go because mommy and daddy didn’t bring any cash so we couldn’t get dinner and E was one dirty boy in need of a bath.  Next time we will be better prepared!
