Story Time

This morning Eli and I met up wit our friends Cindy and Evann for story time at the Mitchell Library.  This was the first time that Eli and I been to this particular library and I’m glad we made the long track out there (like 5 additional miles down Woodlands Parkway).  This library is totally set up for kids!  The kids section is completely separated from the rest of the library.  Story time was nice, they had a snack, sang songs, read a couple of books and then had a craft.  But I really loved the kids area and I think the kids did too.  Eli and Evann had a great time playing together and running around the book shelves!

The End of the World!

Or at least that’s what Eli thought and acted like to day when I washed GaGa (blanky).  I don’t wash that thing very often but I like to try and wash it at least once a week.  That thing stunk!

I thought I had snuck gaga into the washer but about 30 seconds after I started the washer Eli was running to the laundry room crying gaga, gaga.  He threw the biggest and longest tantrum which included beating on the laundry room door.

Look at that sad face!

Can’t get through the door, so lets try and push through the wall!

He was a very happy boy when he got gaga back.  Thomas so mean before bed and teased Eli by pretending to put gaga in the washer!  Eli ran crying to the laundry room!

Our Saturday

We have a new Saturday ritual, which I love!  When Eli gets up he comes and wakes daddy so they can go get doughnuts together!  We have a really neat doughnut shop right down the street from our house.  After you order you can sit up at the bar and watch them make the doughnuts.  Thomas and Eli have done this for the past 3 Saturdays and Eli looks forward to each week.  I on the other had get to go to the gym (by myself) and run a bunch instead of feasting on yummy doughnuts.

This is Eli waiting for daddy to go get the doughnuts.  Eli gets to go in his PJs which he thinks is a ton of fun

We went to Lucy’s 2nd birthday party after Eli woke from his nap.  Which I used to get Eli to go down for his nap.  I told him that if he did go to sleep he couldn’t go to Lucy’s party and after that he was out in 2 minutes!  Lucy lives way out in New Waverly on some awesome property.  Eli loves going out there.

 001

Lucy had a puppy theme party so Eli is taking a break from his hard play to enjoy some PB&J dog bones and a juice.

Here is Eli and the birthday girl!

Sweet romance in the making?

Lucy is chasing Eli with the car while Eli pushes the lawn mower (hope he continues to love the lawn mower as he gets older because we are counting the days until we cancel the yard crew!)

005

Lucy still chasing Eli but Eli has spotted Blake to chase

Lucy wondering where Eli went too!

We had a great time at the party and like normal Eli didn’t want to leave.  But we had to get home and in the bath since we had church in the morning!

Eli's 1st day of School

Well, it was his 1st day of Mother's Day Out. We enrolled Eli in the MDO program at Oakridge Christian Academy this year and today was his first day in class. Thomas decided to take the day off so that we could take Eli to his first day of school together.

On our way to the school I asked Eli a few questions. I asked, "are you excited about school?" Eli, "nope". Me, "are you going to take a nap today?" Eli, "nope". Me, "are you going to eat your lunch today?" Eli, "nope". Me, "are you going to cry?" Eli, "nope". Me, "are you going to eat your snack?" Eli, "yes"!

We got to the school a few minutes early so we hung out in the lobby until it was time to take him to his class. Eli found a little boy to play with while we waited and even got a chance to tackle him. Then he saw his friend Abby and got really excited to see her. Then it was time to take the kids to their class room, Eli got a little upset because his new found friend and Abby were not going to the same class as him, they were in an older class.

We dropped Eli off in his class room and not a tear was shed. We didn't even get a by bye from him! After we dropped him off Thomas and I went to a Boo Hoo, Woo Hoo breakfast for the parents. We decided to stop by the class room to sneak a peak on our way to the car. Eli was happily playing in the classroom.

I was so excited to pick Eli up this afternoon I got there a little bit early. Eli was still napping when I got there! All the other kids were up and playing/crying and my little guy was passed out! I was told that Eli had a great day. He never cried except once when all the other kids were crying. He ate all his lunch and snack and participated in everything. I was told he counted with the teachers and sang his ABCs (he never sings with me). At nap time I was told that they put him on his mat and he sat up once and when they laid him back down he was out! I am so proud of my little guy, I can't believe how well his 1st day went. I hope his second day on Thursday goes just as well!

Eli is trying out his new backpack and sippy that he got the day before from GG.

Right after we dropped Eli off in his class room.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of him passed out on his nap mat when I picked him up.  Hopefully I will get another chance!

Eli's 1st Texans Game!

Thomas and I decided that the Texan's game on Thursday night would be a great game for Eli to go to. Since it was the last preseason game none of the starters would be playing so Thomas wouldn't mind not staying for the whole game. Eli and I started our evening off by picking Thomas up from his office. Eli loved going to see where daddy worked. He charmed everyone in the office. Thomas' boss even had a great time playing with Eli. After meeting some of Thomas' co-workers we headed to Reliant Stadium!

Thomas and Eli in front of the Astrodome. The parking attendant made Eli smile for this picture.

On our walk to the stadium there are a lot of statues to look at and Eli got an upclose look at most of them.

Just a sweet picture of my boy.

It was a long walk to the stadium from our parking spot so Eli got a ride on daddy's shoulders and of course gaga (blanky) had to come along

Eli was not to sure about this Texan!

A proud Texans family!

The view from our seats. The height didn't bother Eli at all. Before the game started Eli was running up and down the seats.

Thomas and Eli waiting for the game to start.

Eli decided he wanted his own seat.

Walking down the Stadium to go home!

We only made it to slightly after the 1st quarter. The game started at Eli's bed time so we didn't expect to stay very long anyways. We all had a great time. It was so fun to experience the game and everything that goes with it through Eli's eyes!
