We were going to have a playgroup New Years Eve party complete with a count down to noon but with all the bugs running rampant right now the hosts of the party got sick! Well, that didn’t stop us from finding our own fun. Eli’s girlfriend’s mommy found out that the Children’s museum in The Woodlands was having a New Year’s Eve party complete with a count down to noon so we headed over there. They had a band complete with a tuba!
Eli loved the band!
But we had to get ready for the count down by making a 2011 hat and noise maker.
After making our party stuff Eli and Aubrey went dancing on bubble wrap.
Eli tried to show Aubrey the balloons that will drop at noon but Aubrey was too busy dancing!
Of course Aubrey’s little brother Mason was there to ring in the new year too in his own style!

Our neighbor and her little girl Mia were there too!
Finally the count down and balloon drop!
After the great time at the museum we headed over to Los Cucos for lunch with Amanda, Aubrey and Mason. Thomas also joined us for lunch. That’s when we figured out that Eli and Aubrey were on a date. They went dancing and the had lunch together where they split some Quesadillas!
Later that day we headed out to Waller to ring in the New Year with my parent and Grandmama. We thought it would be fun and that Eli was old enough for some Sparklers. We thought we would try them out in the daylight 1st to see if Eli liked them. It took him a little while to warm up to them but then he wanted to give a sparkler a try.
Eli did really great with the sparklers until the wind shifted and he got smoke in his eyes.
After that he decided to let daddy set off a smoke bomb from a distance.
Then Eli decided to watch daddy shoot off a bigger sparkler from the safety of Nanny’s lap.
Eli decided to take a break from fireworks and go play outside while we waited for dinner to be ready.
Eli has figured out that he can swing by himself.
But sometimes it’s just a lot more fun to swing with daddy!

While the adults talked about boring stuff Eli decided to draw Nanny a picture.
After we cleaned up our yummy dinner of chicken curry we decided to give fireworks (sparklers) another shot.

E had so much fun with the sparklers Daddy and E decided to go get a few more for the evening.

Eli didn’t last too long after the second round of fireworks and decided to watch daddy and mommy finish them off from the safety of Nanny and Grandmama.
We had a great New Years Eve. We wished that my sister’s family could have joined us for the fun but 3 had 3 down with the flu! Maybe next year.
