Two Times the Gym

Just a normal Thursday around here.  I like Thursdays almost as much as Fridays because we have nothing scheduled for Thursday evenings and no school the next day.

Thursday morning started off like most mornings, breakfast, bible story, chat with daddy and off to school.  Of course bitty baby and angry bird had to join us for the ride.
After only 4 hours of sleep last night it was a Starbucks morning.  So the Diva and I headed over to Starbucks after dropping E off at school.
I think we annoyed that guy because he was reading the paper but quickly got up and went outside after I set the Diva in that chair so I could pour creamer in my coffee.

After quickly getting our coffee fix we headed over to Flips for gymnastics.  The Diva was great and did most everything all by herself.  We had a sub coach so not to much skill learning happened but it was nice for a break and us moms gt to chat a bit since the kids didn't need us.  The Diva spent most of her time running around.
After gymnastics we headed to 24 hour fitness for a little of my gym time.  Thursday is my HIIT run day.  I think I am going to look forward to this day each week.  It's a shorter gym day for me.  I warmed up with a mile at 6.4 mph (nice that I can now call that a warm up!)  Then started my workout.  I did 10 minutes of sprints at 9.0 mph a minute at a time with a slow jog between each minute at 5.3 mph.  Then I cooled down with a half mile jog at 6.3 mph and a couple minute slow walk.  Then I stretched and picked up the Diva from kids club.  Loved this workout, it is short but I still end up drenched.  I ended up running just over 4 miles, and I love that I call 4 miles short!  I also learned a lesson that the heart rate monitor does not work correctly if put on upside down, so that was a waste!

Next the Diva and I made a quick stop at HEB for peanut butter and gu/chomps (for my long run Saturday) then headed home.  I actually attempted to put the Diva down for a nap before getting the boy from school.  And it went like normal, I got her to sleep placed her in her crib and she was awake.  After listening to her, which can only be described as trying to destroy her crib, I went up there and snapped at her to go to sleep.  Then there was no noise, she fell asleep.  Of course that meant now she only got to nap for about an hour.  When I went to wake her up to go get E from school she was out hard, she was sleeping so hard she was sweaty and had deep lines on her face.

After picking up E from school we headed to Walmart to pick up some supplies for a project we are going to do together.  That was a total bust because Walmart was out of everything we needed!  I guess it's Hobby Lobby on Friday.  But the kids were happy because we spent a good 30 minutes in the toy section.
They took turns in the driver seat, they can be so sweet!

Before school this morning Eli begged me to go to the gym after school.  So after Walmart the 3 of up headed back up 45 to 24 hour fitness again.  This time I did a HIIT work out on the stair climber but not as intense at my run this morning.  Then I did some ab work that I didn't get done on Wednesday.  And speaking of Wednesday I am walking around like an old lady, I am so sore from my leg work out!  After the gym we headed home for Dinner and then bed time.

At school Eli got to go to the treasure box (that boy goes to the treasure box so much) and he got this fish or what he likes to call him, a shark.  In the car he was making up all kinds of stories with this "shark".  He played with him so much at the gym it fell apart.  Luckily I was able to put him back together but not before a few tears fell (E's not mine)
Amazing what little toy can make a boy so happy and imaginative!

B-I-B-I-B-I

Another breakfast and another Video chat with daddy happened this morning.  We did switch it up a little and we did our Bible study with daddy on the video chat.  Then we were off to drop the boy off at school.  Both kids had to take their gifts that they got last night with them in the car.  E has become very attached to his angry bird and the Diva discovered you can remove the giggle box from the baby.

So I totally thought that after dropping E off at school I would be able to listen to KSBJ instead of the kids mix cd.  So I switch the radio on and all of a sudden I hear from the back, "No No No, B-I, B-I, B-I, B-I.. (B-I is her way of saying Bible song)"  I got to listen to the Bible song over and over again on the way to the gym.

Wednesday is a weights day for me so I warmed up with 30 minutes on the elliptical and then hit the weight floor for leg/back day.  Look how much I can do on the leg press!!  Just kidding, people re-rack your weights!! So annoying!
might not be how much I pressed but I did do over 100 pounds!
After the gym the Diva thought she would get some face time in with E's angry bird.  They were having some deep discussions.

The Diva and I decided it was a good day for a trip to the mall.  We rode the escalator, and than the elevator.  We tried to go to the pet store but the smell was to bad and too strong.  We hit up Godiva for our free piece of chocolate.  Then, for some weird reason, I decided to stop in the Gap.  I like one of the dresses they had in the display window and I found only one on clearance size extra small.  It didn't look so small so I thought I'd just try it on and see.  In no way am I an extra small but the dress fit and was on sale for $17 regular $60.  I think there is something wrong with their sizing.
gotta love my picture taking skills and my running pants.
Next we hit up the carousel and CFA.  The Diva told me she was hungry and wanted CFA so I obliged.  They ended up giving us 8 nuggets and the small fries were over flowing and huge.  She did manage to eat 3.5 nuggets
for some reason she will only ride on the bench.
Next we headed to the Disney store where she got excited about every stuffed animal in the place, but had a big fondness for nemo and decided to take him for a spin.

After a quick stop at the play area we headed home, so I could have some lunch and a little play time.

She rediscovered the ottoman.
All too soon it was time to pick the boy up from school. When we got home the Diva went down for her nap and the boy and I did home work.  Then he decided to give his plant a hair cut.

don't hair cutting is in his future, he cut the "hair" down to the dirt!
Then we decided to make some oatmeal cookies.  No reason why just because we needed something to do while we waited for the Diva to wake up.
Can you believe he didn't want to add chocolate chips!
Once the Diva woke up we had dinner outside on the patio and then headed to church.  By the time we got home both kids were wiped out and have not moved from where I tucked them in!

X rated Tuesday

Tuesday started out like a normal Tuesday, got the kids up, made breakfast, video chatted with Thomas then took E to school.  After dropping E off at school the diva and I ran a couple of little errands before hitting up Starbucks.  The Diva tried something new at Starbucks, she got a hot chocolate instead of her normal chocolate milk.
Another picture in the orange chair,
I think she liked it, she finished the whole thing in record time and managed to get all over her dress.  After Starbucks we headed to Tuesday morning Bible study, where I dropped out of one study to start the Gideon Study by Priscilla Shirer.  One thing I really took away from the 1st day was how it only took one generation for the people of Israel to fall away from god.  It seemed like the parents of that generation got comfortable with the blessings and forgot to teach about the blessor.  I see that happen with this generation in America!

After a very insightful Bible study we headed to Kroger's for our weekly grocery shopping trip, then headed home for lunch and play time.  All to soon it was time to go pick the boy up from school.  After returning home from school I put the Diva down for a much needed nap while the boy and I did home work and watched a little TV together.

The boy has different memory verses he has to memorize each week at school and if he memorizes the verse he gets to go to the treasure box.  So far he has been able to visit the treasure box with each verse.  This weeks verse was 1Peter :24-25, Though the grass withers and the flowers fall away the Word of the Lord stands forever! (I am memorizing the verses along with the boy!).  He got to go to the treasure box today and he got a Spiderman wash cloth that expands when it gets in warm water.  So he wanted to take a bath (I was all for that!)  Once the Diva got up from her nap (which I had to wake her from since it was already 5) the kids took a bath.  After bath I was given the honor of watching a naked dance and song.

They did not want to put their clothes on.   They finally put their clothes on when the neighbor came over to see if they wanted to play out side after dinner!  So the kids ate their dinner dressed.  Afterwards we went outside to play for a little while before their sitter came over to watch them while I went to GNO.  Their sitter was so sweet and brought each of them a birthday present.  Needles to say I did not have to fight them to come inside once she got there and there is never any tears when I say good bye!  Glad they like their sitter.  I came home to a quite house and 2 sleeping children!

Not another manic Monday..

Normally our Mondays are Jam packed with errands.  Not this Monday, I was running slow so I decided to take the day a little slower too.  I also only got a few hours of sleep that night (one of these days I'll try to get this insomnia thing fixed).  After breakfast and video chatting with daddy a little pumpkin time happened before heading to the gym.
love these sweet sibling moments so nice when they are not fighting!
Eli was so upset that we didn't get to go to the gym on Saturday, (weird since we never go to the gym on Saturdays), so he was super excited when I told him we were going.  I decided that since I didn't get my long run in on Saturday that I would do it now.  So I ran 9  miles in 80 minutes.  Yes, I did it on the treadmill, I would rather run out side but I don't want to push a double stroller for 9 miles and have to deal with the arguing and complaining.  Plus I got to watch Kelly and Micheal and half of the Price is Right!

After the gym we headed over to FBCTW for Story time.  The kids had a good time the like always and both did a great job on the craft after the story.  Then we headed to ACE so I could get a bolt, nut and washer to fix the garage door with.  The kids were little terrors up and down the aisles with ACE's little shopping carts.  I should have snapped a picture but I was too busy trying to pick out my bolt and putting back all the bolts they kept getting out.

Finally we got home (can not believe how late we got home when we didn't do that much!) for lunch and naps.  I think the kids were worn out from our fun weekend because they both took long naps!  After nap time we headed to the park again.  A lot of swinging happened this time.

All we ended up doing at the park was swinging because before we knew it it was time to get home for dinner and baths. Eli is getting so good on his bike, he even fell off and scrapped his knee but got right back on and kept going!

was not happy to stop swinging!

I told the kids that they could watch they're new movie that the Harrell's gave them while they ate dinner.  I don't think the Diva was into Horton Hears a Who Because a little pumpkin playing happened and then she took me upstairs to play!   Eli liked it and watched the whole thing.  Before heading up for baths and bed we went into the garage and I fixed the garage door!!  Yea me!  Amazing what you can do when motivated with something you don't like (I do not like parking outside!).  The kids were proud of their mom and loved playing in the empty garage.  Then bed time happened (YEA!)

We have a 2 year old!

I still can't believe that it has been 2 years ago that I was woken up in the middle of the night and then had to rush to the hospital because someone all of a sudden decided to get impatient to be born (she was 4 days late).  I ask my parents if they would like me to call and wake them up at 1:30 in the morning so they could relive the excitement, they decided to pass.

I ended up having to wake up or 2 year old up so that we could make it to church on time.  I don't think she was happy that I woke her.

We decided to not do much celebrating today since daddy couldn't be there and we would wait until next week to actually celebrate her birthday.  Plus she had already had her birthday party the week before.

She cheered up when I showed her a birthday message from her daddy.

Then her brother sang happy birthday to her and gave her a kiss and hug,  Such a sweet big brother!

After church (which we made it to on time!) we came home for lunch and naps.
So, true to my kids nature, since we had something to do after nap time they both took long naps that I had to wake them up from!  Our church picnic was after nap time and we had to get going so they wouldn't miss the fun.  Wasn't it nice of FBCTW to throw a picnic for my daughter's birthday!?  Before the picnic I quickly made a poodle skirt and coordinating "2" onsie for my 2 year old Diva.  The picnic was fifties theme.  My parents came along to enjoy the festivities.
She hadn't woken up yet.
We decided to check everything out when we got there.  There was suppose to be hot air balloon rides for "42 inches and taller.  So we went and signed up for that and E was so excited he was tall enough, but sadly the rides did not happen.  Eli was disappointed but not as bad as I thought he would be.  Eli rode the farris wheel before his friends showed up.

What else can make a 2 year old diva happen other than cotton candy!

I did get to play a couple of rounds of the cake walk with E before he disappeared with his friends!
And then his friends showed up and I didn't see much of him after that.  Didn't know that happened at the ripe old age of 5!

After the sugar kicked in from the cotton candy we hit up the bounce house.!
Then she found the coke float booth.  What goes with cotton candy, how about caffeine and more sugar!

What does every birthday Diva need?  A cup cake of course!
Then she stole Nanny's chips and we went out in the field to dance.

This is the best picture of the outfit I made for her.  Totally forgot to snap a picture before putting it on her!
Then some hola hopping happened!  She tried so hard to get that thing to work.

I finally found the boy by the end of the picnic.  And of course more coke floats happened.  The diva did manage to eat a couple of bites of hot dog.  Not sure what E ate but I did fix him a hot dog with chips and a slice of cheese.

Because what she needs is more caffeine and sugar.
After we got home from the picnic I took the kids to the park to burn off some of that sugar.  We had a great time swinging, playing hid and go seek, sliding and bouncing before heading back home to play a couple of rounds of guess who.

When I put the kids to bed I think they crashed because I didn't hear much coming from either room after putting them to bed.

I think my Diva had a good birthday even if we didn't do much celebrating.  And thank you FBCTW for throwing my little 2 year an awesome birthday picnic =-)

A day in Waller!

I love when days that don't go as you plan end up being wonderful, today was one of those days.  Our plan for today was me to get up early (like I try to do) and us getting to the gym at 8 am (as soon as kids club opens) so I could do my long run of 9 miles.  Then head to Waller for the Hollamon fall festival and then home again for naps.  After naps we were going to decorate the pumpkins the kiddos got yesterday.  All those pans fell apart when I dropped my alarm clock on the floor (it resets when I drop it) and didn't wake up until past the time we were suppose to leave for the gym.  I thought I have 2 options 1. rush and try to get out o the house and to the gym but then I would have to cut my run way short or 2. take it slow and have the kids nap at my parents house so I could do my run then.  Eli was upset with plan number 2 because he wanted to do the pumpkins and I told him I don't see why we couldn't take the pumpkins with us and do them at Nanny's house.  So then he was up for plan number 2 but then was upset again when I told him it was time to go and we were not going to the gym.  Of course it ended up being no easy task to get out the door.  I ended up spending a good 15 minutes looking for some stick on mustaches I bought for E's costume and could never find them.  So we ended up at party city trying to find more.
It was a tad chilly so we bundled up (yep we're southerners!)
Finally on our way to Waller.  Since my head was still in a sleep fog I decided we need to stop by Starbucks for some coffee.  Well, it seems everyone in the woodlands/magnolia area had the same idea!  I have never seen a drive through line so long so we went in.  Normally my order is supper quick since I don't get a fancy coffee just drip brewed but this time E decided he wanted a hot chocolate.  And of course it took forever to get they even made several orders for customers that were behind us!  I was beginning to think we would never get out of there.  Finally we were on our way again and getting all green lights, making great time until we got Magnolia.  I totally forgot about Renfest and the traffic that it brings!  We finally made it to Waller and hour and 40 minutes after starting out.

The kids had a blast and the temps were just right even if it was a bit windy.  We did every single game there.  I also got to talk with several high school friends (much to E's dismay).
the football toss the E was way to good at

The Diva even started playing a few games too (she wanted the candy)

Part of an obstetrical course, that couch Matt would be proud of how he went over the hay bales.

The cookie Face game part of the minute to win.  he had to try and get the cookie in his mouth.

Part of minute to win it.
He was really good at knocking the water bottles down.

His 1st sack race, he raced against the Diva.

The diva found an easier way to to this race!

We took a hay ride to see the sights of Waller

Some how E got a vampire bite.

We took a chocolate fondue break

While we had the fondue E turned into a vampire!!!

Our last game was at Nanny's both we got our bowling on.

We finally headed into have some lunch and watch some of the auction.

The Kids and I headed back to my parents to put the Diva down for a nap.  While the Diva napped E and I watched a couple of shows (the run never happened). Then we played a couple of games with Nanny.  Finally I noticed the time and it was getting really late so we decided to start painting the pumpkins and wake the Diva up.
He was really into it!
Such a cutie and he had a blast doing his angry bird pumpkin all by himself!

He did awesome!

She loved her Hello Kitty pumpkin
The pumpkin is almost as cute as the owner!

We ended up staying at my parents so late we had dinner there.  The kids got to have popcorn for dinner and the adults had some very yummy smoked pulled pork.  Noticing how late it was I decided to give the kids a bath at my house, which they loved.  But then were a bit disappointed when I told them we were not spending the night.  Before the bath the Diva even went into the office and started cleaning off Eli's bed so he could sleep in it.  She is such a sweetie and little mamma.  Giving them a bath at may parents was a great idea because E ended up falling asleep on the ride home.
When we finally got home I was greeted at the door with this....
Love you Thomas and miss you too!
