This is the day Eli has been waiting for! We started out our morning with pumpkin, pumpkin pancakes. I even put M&Ms on the pumpkins to make a face.
Eli was more excited about the candy in is pancakes then the fact that I made him pumpkin pancakes in the shape of pancakes. He also wasn’t very happy that I cooked one of his pumpkins to make the pancakes.
But he thought they tasted pretty good!
Here is a better picture of our festive breakfast.
After breakfast we headed to church then home for a nap so that we could go down to League City to Aunt Melissa, Uncle Jonathan and Caleb’s house. We got there around 4 so we could spend time visiting and have dinner before taking the boys out to trick-or-treat.
Uncle Derrill is teasing the boys.
Eli and Caleb played pretty well together. Caleb seemed to enjoy following his crazy cousin around the house.
Aren’t they a pair! Looks like a bunch of trouble.
Uncle Derrill and Eli went outside to play soccer for a little bit.
After visiting, eating and playing for a bit we decided to get the boys dressed up for the big event. We bribed Eli with candy to get him to wear the cow hat and he did for a little while.
A cow hugging a lion how sweet!
Eli looking on while we try to get the lion all dressed up to go out.
This little lion did not want to wear his head dress. It’s kind of hard to bribe a 1 year old.
At first Eli was more into ringing door bells than trick-or-treating.
But as soon as he realized the people who answered the door gave him candy Eli took right to trick-or-treating.
And on to the next house!
It took Caleb a little bit to warm up to trick-or-treating but he had his cousin the pro to show him the ropes and it wasn’t too long till the lion was totally into it!
The Locals (otherwise know as, Grandma, Pops, GG, Papa, and Uncle Derrill) watching the trick-or-treaters.
The boys got to trick-or-treat in style. Caleb enjoyed the wagon ride but E thought it was too much of a headrace to get to the house to get more candy!
Our battery died half way into our trick-or-treating adventure. But we had a ton of fun and everyone seemed to get a kick out of E’s costume. E got a ton of candy but all he was interested in was the pops (lollypops), he even passed up full sized candy bars for pops! E had so much fun that he passed out on the way home in the car. We had such a good time I am already thinking about next year but I don’t know how we will top the Chick-fil-a cow costume!
