Hanging of the Green

Every year the Sunday after Thanksgiving is First Baptist Church The Woodland’s hanging of the green service.  The sanctuary gets decorated by different members of the congregation through out the service.   It’s a nice fun service with a lot of singing so we take Eli to the service each year.  Eli is just excited to get to go to big Church!  We ended up sitting next to our friend and her little boy who was behaving very well until E started bugging him.

I was able to keep the boys occupied for a while with gold fish.  Eli would eat one and then hand one to Ethan

013

E did get into the spirit of things and “sang” some of the Christmas Carols.

014

This is a picture of the preschool choir, they were very good and actually sang!

  017

Eli decided Ethan made a comfortable pillow and Ethan thought E was pretty comfy too!

018

After the service we had a fellowship that included, sweets, roasting marshmallows for smores and the movie It’s Christmas Charlie Brown.  There was also wassail and hot coco to drink.  As soon as E heard there was wassail he had to have some.

 020

Eli really enjoyed that wassail.

021

He enjoyed it so much he had to show Vanessa how good it was.

022

Eli spotted some youth playing Frisbee and they were nice enough to let E play a little.

 024

It looks like Eli is the only one watching the movie but all the kids are sitting back on the grass.  But of course not E he has to be right up front in the middle of things!

We had a great time tonight and it’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and to keep the focus on Jesus.
