Church Picnic

Tonight we went to the First Baptist Church The Woodlands Picnic. It was so much fun we had such a blast. This picnic’s theme was Family Fall Fiesta. The church provided fajita meat and everyone else provided the fixin’s.

When we first got there E and I went to check out the turtle on the leash. E was not to happy that the turtle kept coming after him.

001

So we decided to go play some ball instead but E was not totally recovered from the turtle stand-off.

002

But a chip made everything so much better

003

So E was ready to play some Ball.

008

Ball playing didn’t last too long because E decided the bleachers were more enticing.

013

Eli tried to push his friend Benjamin on his trike but couldn’t quite do it so Benjamin got off (well his mommy took him off, same thing).

014

The E saw pretty Julia climb the monkey bars

017

So of course he had to have a go at it too.

020

We had a mariachi band come play for us.

021

Eli loved listening too them and stayed sitting down for over 3 songs which has to be a record of sitting still for E!

023

Benjamin Decided that he better let his daddy push him on the trike instead of E and E was happy to let his friends get rides on his bike.

024

E decided he wanted to train to play football.

026

He was using all the equipment that was laying out.

028

He even had to get one hit in.

029

After all that football training it was time for a sugar break. But everyone else had the same idea so we had to wait inline for some cotton candy.

031

E didn’t really care for the 1st bite of cotton candy

032

So he decided to feed it to mommy.

033

Mommy loves cotton candy!

034

He’s checking to make sure I ate it all

035

E decides that since mommy likes it so much he’d give it another shot.

036

He decided he still didn’t like it, oh well, more cotton candy for mommy!

037

This is E’s little buddy Hudson

039

The had a great time chasing each other on the playground equipment.

043

Eli thought he’d give the rope ladder a shot, think he needs to wait for a growth spurt to give it another try.

042

Last slide before going home.

We had so much fun at the picnic and brought home a very tired and dirty boy. We are so blessed to be involved with such a loving church.

Ethan’s 2nd Birthday Party!

This morning we went to our little friend Ethan’s 2nd birthday party.  It was an antique fire station.  All the kids had a blast and were worn out by the time we all left.

Eli got to sound the siren.

 004

and ring the bell.

 005

of course he had to make sure the trucks were nice and clean.

 007

He had to take a break from the trucks,

 008

so he could blow his whistle for a while.

 015

Then he got right back into the trucks (even if it wasn’t a real one).

018

He’s going so quick everyone is a blur.

Eli-isims

Well, I guess it’s just cute things Eli says.

The other night I asked Eli if he wanted to talk to God and he said, “yes, on the phone”.  I asked him again this morning and again he said he’d like to talk to God on the phone.

We ask Eli every night who he wants to put him to bed.  Usually the answer is mommy but lately he has been asking for the kitty or Patches to put him night-night.

We also ask Eli every night who he wants to pray for and we have been getting some interesting answers.  We have prayed for Bob the tomato from Veggie Tales (we have prayed for him a lot actually and yes you can pray for a cartoon tomato).  Some of my favorite prayer requests are for the Texans, all the babies and tonight's prayer request for all the kitties.  He does occasionally pray for one of his playmates or family members.

MOO!

My baby is turning into a COW!!!!

But he’s the cutest cow I have ever seen!

A very Busy Day

Eli’s day started very early, (I wont say bright and early since the sun wasn’t up yet), I guess he was getting a head start for our busy day. Eli has taken to getting up in the mornings with Thomas and before you say how sweet that time would be 5:30 in the morning! So since Eli is getting up before me Thomas has been putting him in bed with me where Eli does not go back to sleep. So Eli periodically kicks me to wake me up. When I finally roll over Eli sticks his sweet little face right up to mine and says hi!

After I finally got up, got E his breakfast and ready for the day we headed to the gym. At the gym we ran into Eli’s girl friend Aubrey while they played their mommies worked out. After the gym we headed over to Eli’s wrestling buddy, Chad's house for a playdate with our playgroup where the kids were very busy!

We all took turns on the swings.

We climbed and slid

009

We decorated cookies

005

We ate the cookies

Then the boys decided to have a demolition derby.

This is what the mommies do after a busy play date!

After a very busy morning with our friends Eli and I headed home for nap time. We had such a busy fun morning even mommy took a nap. Of course Eli was gearing up for a busy after he decided to only nap for an hour. On Friday Eli is going to Kids Night Out at the church and it’s bring your own pumpkin so I decided to take E to the pumpkin patch at the church down the road. And since E is learing about orange and pumpkins at school he was very excited to go get one.

023

Look mom this one has a cool handle.

030

Can we get this one, it’s bumpy!

031

Ok how about these 2?

046

ok, then how about a whole bunch of pumpkins?

After pumpkin hunting Eli and I headed to the church to meet up with daddy for dinner. It was hamburger night and Eli actually ate a good about of his burger! After dinner Thomas took E for a walk around campus while I finished up my meal. Our church is working on improving our grounds and I was able to get some real nice pictures of E.

062

066

After our walk around the campus we asked Eli if he wanted to go see the youth and see if their band was warming up. Eli took us right to the mill where the youth meet but much to his disappointment they were not yet warming up yet. Then E took us to the children’s building and walked right into the preschool music class and sat down to learn about music (E is still too young for this class you have to be 3). But I was so proud of my little guy, he sat and listened to everything Ms. Ann said. Eli really loves music and I think he likes to learn about it too.

After church we got E ready for bed. When it was time to say prayers I asked E if he wanted to talk to God and he said he wanted to talk to God on the phone! Ms. Kimberly pointed out to me that Psalm 4:3 says "the Lord will hear when I call to Him”.
